Accessibility Statement — Gray’s Signature Builds

Effective date: 30 October 2025
Contact: info@grayssignaturebuilds.co.uk

Summary

We want everyone to be able to use the Gray’s Signature Builds website. This accessibility statement explains how we’re doing that, what standards we follow, known limitations and how you can request information in an accessible format.

Compliance status

We aim for our public website to conform to WCAG 2.1 Level AA standards where reasonably possible. While we work to make the site accessible, not all pages, documents, embedded content or third-party resources may yet meet this standard.

What we’ve done so far

To improve accessibility we have:

  • Built pages on WordPress using accessible themes and semantic HTML where possible.

  • Ensured page structure uses clear headings, meaningful link text and alt text for images.

  • Implemented keyboard-navigable menus and obvious focus indicators.

  • Added descriptive page titles and meta information to assist screen reader users.

  • Integrated accessible contact channels so users can request help or alternative formats.

  • Carried out automated and manual testing (including keyboard navigation and screen-reader spot checks).

Ongoing work

We regularly review and update the site. Work planned or in progress includes:

  • Remediating legacy pages and PDF documents so they meet accessibility best practice.

  • Improving colour contrast and font sizing options for readability.

  • Adding captions or transcripts for multimedia where possible.

  • Testing with a wider range of assistive technologies and devices.

Planned reviews occur at least annually, or sooner when we update the site substantially.

Known limitations

Some content may not yet be fully accessible, for example:

  • Embedded third-party content (maps, video hosts, some document viewers) that use external providers’ players or frames.

  • Older PDFs or documents uploaded before our current accessibility process was introduced.

  • Third-party plug-ins or widgets that do not expose full ARIA or keyboard support.

Where third-party content creates accessibility barriers we will either replace it with an accessible alternative or provide the same information in an alternate format on request.

Technical information about this website’s accessibility

This website is built with WordPress and follows accessibility best practice using semantic HTML, ARIA attributes where required, and responsive design. We test against WCAG 2.1 AA criteria using a mix of:

  • Automated tools (accessibility scanners and validators).

  • Manual testing (keyboard navigation, colour contrast checks).

  • Spot checks with screen readers such as NVDA (Windows) and VoiceOver (macOS/iOS).

If you want more technical detail about a particular page or element, contact us at info@grayssignaturebuilds.co.uk and we will provide technical information where possible.

How to request content in an accessible format

If you need information in an alternative format (for example: accessible PDF, large print, plain text, audio), please contact us:

Email: info@grayssignaturebuilds.co.uk

When you contact us, please include:

  • The web page address (URL) or document you need,

  • Your preferred format, and

  • Your contact details.

We will consider and respond to all requests and aim to provide an accessible alternative as soon as reasonably possible — normally within 5 working days or we will tell you when it will be available.

Reporting accessibility problems

If you encounter any accessibility problems on our site, please email info@grayssignaturebuilds.co.uk with:

  • The URL of the page with the issue,

  • A description of the problem, and

  • The device and browser you were using.

We welcome your feedback and use it to plan improvements.

Enforcement procedure

If you have raised an accessibility issue with us and remain unsatisfied with our response, you may contact the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) for advice on data/privacy-related concerns, or seek advice from other relevant consumer or equality bodies. The ICO website provides guidance on raising concerns: ico.org.uk.
