What we fit
Full family bathrooms, en-suites, shower rooms and cloakrooms. Freestanding baths, walk-in showers, and showers set under rooflights where the ceiling slopes. A lot of our bathrooms are built as part of a bigger job: in Hebburn a loft was turned into a bedroom and a bathroom with a freestanding bath under a vaulted window, and in Whitley Bay a new bathroom went into the loft alongside a home office during a full re-roof. Building the bathroom with the conversion means the drainage, the floor and the ceiling are designed for it from day one, not squeezed in afterwards.
How we build them
The order matters. The old suite and tiles come out, and the floor and walls are checked and made good. Pipework, waste runs and electrics go in while the walls are open. Extraction is sized for the room so steam goes outside rather than into the plaster. Wet areas are tanked before tiling, so the waterproofing does not depend on the grout. Then the tiling, the fit and the finish.
That hidden work is where cheap bathrooms cut corners, and it is why some start leaking or growing mould within a couple of years. It costs a little more on the quote and a lot less over the life of the room.

Asked about bathrooms.
Do you handle the whole bathroom, or just the fitting?
The whole job. Strip-out, any changes to the layout, plumbing, electrics, waterproofing, plastering, tiling and the final fit, run by one team on one programme. You are not left co-ordinating a plumber, an electrician and a tiler who each blame the last one.
Can you put a bathroom or en-suite in a loft?
Yes, we have built several. Our Hebburn loft conversion has a freestanding bath set under a vaulted window, and our Whitley Bay loft has a new bathroom alongside a home office. In a loft the head height, the drainage run and where the soil pipe can go have to be solved before anything else, and we work that out at the survey.
Can you add an en-suite to an existing bedroom?
Usually, yes. The deciding factors are where the waste can run, where the water supply comes from and how much of the bedroom you are willing to give up. Showers with rooflights over them work well in awkward corners and under slopes.
What stops a new bathroom leaking in a few years?
Waterproofing behind the tiles. Wet areas are tanked before they are tiled, so if water ever gets past the grout it meets a waterproof layer rather than the plasterboard or the floor. It is the part you never see and the part that decides whether the bathroom is still sound in ten years.
Do I need permission to put in a new bathroom?
Replacing a bathroom does not usually need planning permission. Some of the work is covered by Building Regulations, including new drainage, ventilation and most electrical work in a bathroom, so that work is done to the regulations and certified. A bathroom built as part of a loft conversion or extension is signed off by Building Control with the rest of the job.
